Set The Lighting
People like to have a home that is comfy and inviting. A good idea to complete before you put your home on the market is to remove all of your bright white light blubs and replace them with a light bulb that offers a softer wattage. This will help your home have the comfy feel that prospective buyers are looking for.
Wash Your Windows
Washing your windows or having them professionally washed is something that is often overlooked. Cleaning your windows both inside and outside will allow for more light to come into the home and will make the rooms look clean. This is something that if it is not completed that buyers will notice.
Pay Attention To The Small Details
If you do not pay attention to the small details you could be turning off homebuyers without even knowing it. You should take the time to freshen up your rooms by simply replacing the outlet and light switch covers if they are covered with fingerprints or just yellowing from age. You should also polish the handles and any hardware and remove spots and scuffs on walls.

Even from the outside you will want to make your home feel welcome to the buyers. Another good tip is to purchase a new doormat and clean the front door to get rid of the dust and dirt that has collected on the door. Be Inviting To The Sense Of Smell
All real estate agents will tell you to bake cookies right before you have someone coming to look at your home or you can even fake the smell with a scented candle. This makes the home feel and smell warm and cozy. You can also put lavender and vanilla air fresheners in the bathrooms and bedrooms. This will give these rooms a spa like feel.
Make It Look Bigger Than What It is
When buyers are looking at homes they it to feel like the space is big. You can make your space feel bigger by hanging curtains that are floor length from the top of the window or you can lay a rug that has stripes to make the floor look larger. The bigger it looks the better it is.
Selling a home is a long and drawn out process. The good news is that if you follow the tips that your real estate agent gives to you as well as the tips that are listed above you should be successful in selling your home in a timely manner.
